The Naugatuck
Public School System is committed to providing children with disabilities from
age three to twenty-one a free appropriate public education in accordance with
the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. School staff review concerns
with parents, and where indicated, conduct a diagnostic evaluation to determine
if a child is in need of special education services. If you know of a child who
may be disabled and has not been identified by the school system, please ask
the child's parents to contact the Naugatuck Public Schools, Department of
Special Services at 720-5265.
Early
intervention services are also available for children from birth to age three
through various providers in the Naugatuck area. If you have a concern about a
