Dear
Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Throughout
the year we make a strong effort to instruct students about the importance
of being kind to others and keeping safe. We educate our students, faculty,
staff and parents about children with severe peanut and other food
allergies, some of which may be life threatening. Children are advised not
to bring these allergens into the classrooms. We also have an
allergy/peanut-free area available in the cafeteria.
Unfortunately,
twice over the last two weeks two separate incidences have occurred in the
cafeteria where someone has compromised the health and safety of another
classmate by intentionally exposing them to their allergen. This is a
serious offense and any future occurrences by any child will be punished by
out of school suspension.
At this time
we are asking that parent(s)/guardian(s) talk to their child(ren) and help
us by reinforcing the importance of never intentionally exposing
another child to harm by putting an allergen in their presence. Thank you
for your cooperation.
Yours truly,
Cheryl A.
