Text Box: The Hillside boys’ basketball team finished its season in the Naugatuck Valley Middle School League with a 6-8 overall record. The very competitive league is compromised of teams from cities and towns throughout the NVL. "Although we ended up with a below .500 record, I thought the players competed at the level necessary to play in this league. They improved individually and as a team throughout the season, and we had some very good wins, especially against City Hill, which is our main rival." "Hopefully the boys can take some life-long lessons that were taught and incorporate them into every aspect of their future." We want to congratulate Sean Brelsford, Nick Moriello, Steven Mufalli,Chris Szarzynski	,Kevin Tousignant, Jake Yourison, Corey Andrew, Matt Bradley,
Andrew Ernsky, Husani Foote, Matt McClain, Brian McGrath. Mick Pernell and managers Tiffany Aviz and Imani Moody.

Text Box: The girls basketball team finished their season with strong games against a few very strong teams. Throughout the season, the girls showed steady improvement. The Lady Eagles struggled early in the season, learning how to play "Hillside" basketball, but hard work in practice paid off for the girls. The girls were competitive in every game and no matter what the circumstance, never gave up or gave in.
Leading the way for the Eagles were Captains Melissa Leggett and Lauren Rau. Melissa led the team in points and rebounds. Lauren was the most improved player on the team. Fellow 8th graders playing their final season at Hillside were: Amber Kuczenski, Jess Buckley, Katelyn Deptula, Melody Emmons and Sam Vassallo. Returning 7th graders are Stephanie Lima, Cristina Lima, Melissa Batista, and Amy Dietz. Managers were Desiree Peterson, Victoria Hendricks, and Brianna Kirk.
Text Box: We would like to send out our congratulations to our swim team as well. Coaches Dave Kunces and Brandi Sill helped our atheletes achieve a 9th overall ranking in the championships. A number of Hillside students had some outstanding individual times in different strokes. We can’t mention them all, but we want our swimmers to know that they are a source of pride for Hillside. So all the best to 8th grade swim team members Adam Wakeley, Joanna Tavares and Harsimran Kaur as they move on to high school. Salutations as well to 7th grade members Rebecca Doback, Emily Dupont, Gretchen Hale, Kurtis Szczesiul, Samantha Turner and Mark Vella.

We would like to congratulate all of our athletic participants on their well-earned accomplishments. We also wish our spring athletes success as they begin their softball and baseball seasons.
