History A school was
built on Prospect Street in 1898 in order to improve the educational facilities
in Naugatuck's Union City section. It became one of the town's more attractive
wooden educational facilities, "with architectural character and commodious
classrooms". The old wooden building was demolished in 1957 to allow for
construction of a new brick facility. Prospect Street School celebrated
its 100th anniversary as an elementary school in 1998.
