CLASS NEWS

Reading This week the third grade is reading The Planets and Our Solar System.	Math The third grade is currently working on Topic 6, “Analyzing Shapes.”
Writing The third grade are working on their first processed writing piece about a vacant house. They are also developing their writing skills using the Empowering Writer’s Program.	Homework Please make sure your child completes and returns all homework assignments.

Science The third grade is currently studying “Matter”. Students will learn what matter is and its properties of solid, liquid and gas.
Reading Calendar Your child should be working on their November reading calendar. It must be turned in December 1, 2008. Parents, please remember to sign their calendar!	Social Studies The third grade is currently working on geography and map skills. They are also learning about Communities, with a focus on their community of Naugatuck.
