Susan
B. Komen Foundation
The staff wore the color
PINK to support a worthy cause-Breast Cancer Research. A total of
$220.00 was raised for the foundation.
The First Grade Classes raised $238.60 for UNICEF during their trick
or treating night on Halloween. That's enough to immunize 400 children
against measles and rubella or provide 360 packets of high energy biscuits.
The
school community and their families contributed 574 items for the Naugatuck
Food Bank. Each grade level brought in a variety of different items
to stock the town's food bank. Several 4th grade boys helped Mr.
Todd pack up the items to drive to the food bank.
The
school community collected 157 new mittens (and some hats) to help
other children . We partnered with Driggs school in Waterbury to
reach out to other communities of children in need.
The
staff and some parents contributed many Christmas gifts to help make the
holidays happier for 57 children through our local Visiting Nurses Association.
Many Chistmas wishes were granted with new basketballs, clothes,
games, and stuffed animals. The gift givers seem to have the most
fun buying gifts, wrapping them and giving generously of their hearts.
