McEducator's Night at McDonald's
Thursday, November 2, 2006
The parking lot was full
and the crowds were impressive. Patient families waited in
very long lines for their food. Many teachers and
staff came dressed in black and white, donned an apron
and hairnet, and helped the McDonald's staff with many tasks.
Teachers cleaned tables,
filled sodas, made burgers and fries and helped pack
orders for the Drive Through. Everyone learned how hard the
workers at McDonald's work every day! THANK YOU to everyone who
participated in this
event and to
the New Haven Road McDonald's management and staff for
allowing us to descend upon their restaurant once again!

United We Stand Let's Give Them a Hand Campaign at Maple Hill School
2004
The Maple Hill School family includes
some
students whose family members are being deployed to Iraq and they are
helping
to support our troops in the Middle East during the holidays. Students
brought
in donations that were placed in "goodie" bags that will be opened
during
the holiday season. Toiletries, batteries, sunscreen, calling
cards,
power bars, and health products were just some of the items collected.
Monetary
donations were used for higher priced items and money collected from
staff
and faculty for Friday Dress Down Days paid for shipping the bags to
Iraq.
The project helped the students the true meaning of giving and may lead
them
to a penpal relationship with the service men and women. In the
photo,
teachers and helpers pack the items for shipping.
