On occasion, parents will ask for special permission for their child to have his/her lunch heated before lunch. Due to safety concerns and the risk of burns, we are unable to honor these requests. If your child must have a hot lunch, please arrange to purchase that lunch from our cafeteria. A lunch from home, such as a sandwich or salad that can be eaten at room temperature, is another alternative.

The Principal’s Problem
In an effort to increase math problem solving skills, written math communications, and parental involvement in mathematics, Ms. Kane will put out a math problem every other Friday that will be collected on the following Monday, reviewed and posted on a bulletin board. This is an optional activity and students
may participate as often as they would like. Each student that submits a completed
problem will be rewarded with a raffle ticket for a monthly drawing that my include a book, ice cream, no homework coupon….Please join in this math family fun!

End of the Day Pick-up Procedure (3:20 PM):

In an effort to maintain safety and security for all children, we will have a new and improved dismissal procedure.

o Parents/designee will report to the cafeteria, with photo ID every day, and sign out their child(ren).
o Parents/designee and siblings will remain seated at the first 3 tables only since the room is often used for instructional purposes.
o Students must report to the sign-out desk to be checked out before joining their parents and leaving the building.

AllergiK ID Wristbands
Our Nurses’ Office has advised us that allergy-specific wristbands, custom sized for young children,
are available from School Kids Healthcare. These wristbands make the identification of a child’s specific
food allergy quick and easy. White recessed letters on the red band are eye-catching to ensure maximum visibility.
They stretch for easy on and off and are available for the following allergies:  peanut, tree nut, egg, and dairy.
The cost is $11.95 for a package of 3.
If you are interested, you can check them out at Schoolkidsheatlhcare.com or call 866-558-0686.

Safety First!

Flip-flops and backless shoes are a safety hazard and are not to be worn to school.

Due to fluctuating temperatures, students should wear jackets to school each day.
If necessary, they will borrow a jacket from the nurses’ office if available.
