Introduction to Crazy Quilts
Do you have a collection of buttons, lace, threads and beads waiting
for a way to use them all together. Come and learn how to make and

Scrapbooking/Preserving Photos
You will learn how to create simple, meaningful and creative albums
while displaying family photos, memorabilia, stories and heritage in safe,
beautiful albums. A $10 materials fee payable to the instructor and
6-8 pictures are needed the first night of class. A variety of scrapbooking
supplies will be available for purchase.

Ready, Set, ~ DRAW!
Participants will gain knowledge in the drawing elements of value and
composition. Explorations in charcoal pencil and other media will

Country Folk Painting On Wood
Did you ever say, “I’d like to paint that myself?” Now you can,
and you will be surprised at the results. You will learn the basic
strokes and techniques of “method painting” and amaze yourself and your

of yoga is not necessary. Wear loose clothing and bring an exercise

This is a form of Hatha Yoga. It is the integration of body,

Reader’s Book of the Month Club
After reading a good book, do you often wish you had someone with whom
you could discuss it? This club is for the serious reader.
We will choose a book to read for the month and then gather together for
stimulating discussions. Bring some suggested readings. We
will be discussing The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan September 18.

Preparation for Substitute Teaching
School districts are continually looking for qualified adults to serve
as substitute teachers. This course will explain the key components
of successful substitute teaching, including classroom management techniques,
emergency procedures, instructional methods and important laws regarding
students. The seminar will also explain the locations, start times
and general routines of Naugatuck’s schools. If you are interested
in the educational system, this is an excellent opportunity to learn some
basics. In most districts, substitutes are required to hold an Associates
Degree or its equivalent.
