We will notify you ONLY if your class is canceled.
If we do not contact you, please assume your class is a "GO."

Refund Policy

If you must withdraw from any class, please notify us at least three days prior to the first class to be assured of receiving a full refund. Participants who withdraw after this time will be charged a 15% processing fee. No refunds will be given after the second session of a class. For one-session classes, participants must withdraw three days prior to the date of the session to receive a refund.

Material Fees

Additional fees and/or materials are required for some courses. Check the course description for the cost of such fees which are paid directly to the instructor.

Class Cancellation

Whenever the Naugatuck Public Schools are closed, Adult and Continuing Education classes do not meet. If inclement weather begins during the afternoon hours, listen to one of the following radio stations: 100.5 WRCH-FM, 96.5 WTIC-FM, 1080 WTIC-AM, 1320 WATR-AM. If a specific class is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances with the instructor, it will be held the following week on the same day and time.

Physical Education, Nature and Outdoor Courses

All of these courses can be strenuous; please consult a physician before signing up. By enrolling in these courses, you indicate you have no physical condition or health history that would make your participation hazardous to your health.

How to Buy a PC

Is a new computer on your family’s shopping list? Before investing in a computer, make sure your new machine is right for you. This course will provide you with a working knowledge of RAM, hard drives, CD ROM drives, modems, and other computing hardware. The implications of Window ’98 vs. Windows 2000 will be discussed as well as retail and mail order buying options.

Computers for the Absolute Beginner

This seminar is designed for you if you are a new computer user or are planning to obtain your first computer. Windows and MacIntosh computers are discussed. You will learn how these machines think and how they communicate with their hardware. Explore the Windows operating system and learn how to control your desktop. An introduction to word processing and spreadsheets is included.

Introduction to Microsoft Excel 5.0 for Windows

Excel is gaining popularity in the PC world as a powerful spreadsheet. This course will introduce you to what spreadsheets are and how they work, how to create and edit a spreadsheet, use the copy and move commands, and add and delete rows, columns and ranges. You will learn how to get your spreadsheet in readable printout form and you will be able to create and print graphs. After this class, you’ll have the capability to create, edit, retrieve, save, and printout Excel spreadsheets and graphs.

Introduction to Internet

Join your friends and business associates on the information super highway with this introduction to Internet. Digital Photography Just for the Fun of It!

Have you always wanted to send a recent family picture to the relatives on the other coast? This one-day course will have you snapping those shots and e-mailing them off in no time. Different methods of getting your images into the computer will be demonstrated. Once loaded, what do you do with them? Design cards, send via e-mail or upload them to the Internet! Simple digital cameras will be provided for hands-on exercises. Bring your own camera to practice with and get your questions answered today.
